Welcome to Sharad Chandra Arts and Commerce College

In keeping with the National Policy of Skill India, the College has started Skilled-based Courses like B. Voc. and Community College to produce skilled and employable workforce for the industrial work. This will help to overcome the shortage of skilled work-force which the the industry is facing.

Sharadchandra Arts and Commerce College, Butibori was established in the year 1992 and is recognized by the Government and affiliated to Rashtrasanta Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur.

Started by Shri Saikripa Kisan Education Society, Butibori, and registered under the Public Trust Act and the society’s Registration Act in 1986, the institution was established with an aim of providing employment oriented quality higher education to the rural students; especially the girls and economically backward students. The motto of the institution, “Towards Empowerment through Education”inspires us at every step.

The Institution started its functioning with 02 undergraduate courses – B.A. (Arts Faculty and B.Com. (Commerce Faculty) with the strength of 48 students in Arts Faculty and 12 students in Commerce Faculty. The total no. of teaching and Non- teaching staff in the beginning was 03 and 02 respectively. At present the Institution offers a range of optional subjects to choose from, like Philosophy, Psychology, Home-Economics, Marathi Literature etc, as well as the advanced and employment oriented courses like B.Voc. Community college train the students in Automotive, Building Technology, Fashion Design, Travel and Tourism & IT/ITES etc. The freedom of choice and quality of training the students get at the Institution is at par with their urban counterparts.

The Institution owns eight and a half acres of prime land in the Five –Star MIDC area which is the largest Industrial area in central Asia. State of the art infrastructural facilities are provided by the Institution. The facilities include spacious classrooms, quality furniture, best equipments, playground, well stacked library and canteen, gym, hostel, indoor stadium & swimming pool under construction.

The Institution has a team of duly qualified and talented members of academic community as its staff, which has enabled the Institution to provide quality education. 05 members of the Teaching staff have been awarded Ph.D. by RTM-Nagpur University. 08 members of Teaching Staff have M.Phil. Degree and all the members have registered for Ph.D.

The results of the Institution also reflects hard work on the part of teachers as well as the students. Though rural students have weak educational foundation, with the efforts of our teachers they do not just complete the course but further pursue Post-Graduation or various other professional courses.

With the hardworking and intellectual faculty, our Institution is capable of providing quality higher education to rural students. All–round development and employment oriented education have been paid attention to. A large number of students from the vicinity desirous of seeking admission to our Institution is an evidence of the niche carved by our Institution in the field of academics within a short span of time.
